Strung
John is a consummate instrumentalist
playing anything with strings including banjo, guitar, mandolin,
mandocello, autoharp, Appalachian lap dulcimer and fiddle.
His first passion is Old time songs and tunes, Bluegrass music
and Folk. He draws his influences from a wide sphere form
Ewan McColl, Pete Seeger to current musicual luminaries Jodie
Stecher and Tony Ellis and the wealth of Appalachian tradition
that is Old Time Music.
Gill had been a mainstay
of the Liverpool University Folk Club in the 'Augustus John'
pub. She already had an enormous repertoire of folk\songs
form singers such as Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan but
was introduced to the wealth of Old Time music and Bluegrass
ballads by John.She accompanied
the singing by playing a 12 string guitar. Her currentinfluences
include Alison Krauss, Stecher and Brislin, the Carter family,Iris
De Ment to name a few.
